Campus Underutilization

Utilization analysis is performed to determine whether there are fewer minorities and females are employed in each job group than would reasonably be expected by their availability in the labor market. The utilization analysis is a comparison between the availability data and the workforce composition data within each job group. For each of the job groups, a comparison is made between the availability percentage of each minority group and females, computed from the availability analysis, and the percentage of each minority group and females employed in the respective job group under consideration. If the availability percentage of protected class members is less than the percentage of minorities and women employed in the respective job group, then minorities and/or women would be considered fully utilized. In those instances where the availability percentage is greater than the percentage of minorities and women employed, underutilization exists.
