Director / Ethics Officer

 

The Director of Office for Diversity and Affirmative Action reports directly to the President, serves as an advisor to the President, and represents the President's position and directives to various constituents.  The Director also provides leadership related to diversity, equal opportunity and affirmative action. Responsibilities include:

  • directing and monitoring university-wide programs, policies, and procedures designed to ensure non-discrimination across campus and take affirmative action, where warranted;
  • developing and implementing a comprehensive University-wide compliance program designed to prevent, detect, and respond appropriately to violations of law;
  • investigating complaints of discrimination;
  • developing training and communication plans;
  • and providing technical expertise to management, staff and faculty regarding compliance issues.

Jessica Norris

Assistant Director

The Assistant Diretcor assists in the assurance of non-discrimination at Illinois State University by means of investigating complaints of discrimination; mediation and conflict resolution; development and delivery of training to university personnel and students regarding EEO/AA laws, regulations and diversity; and developing statistical analyses and reports ensuring compliance with government regulations.

Administrative Clerk/Ethics Training Administrator

The Administrative Clerk provides support and assistance to the Director and Assistant Director; answers questions regarding employment searches and waivers; and maintains databases for federally mandated reports. The Ethics Training Administrator coordinates the annual state-mandated Ethics Training.  

Anthony L. Marotta

Graduate Assistant

The Graduate Assistants support the work of the Director and Assistant Director.  They provide assistance to university departments in identifying recruitment resources and provide training in several areas of equal opportunity and affirmative action
