This award recognizes a current Illinois State University employee who has demonstrated extraordinary service, research, curricular and/or programming activities that embody the University’s commitment to diversity.
Nominations may be made between October 1st – December 5th, 2008.
Faculty, staff, students, alumni, emeritus faculty or retirees, and friends of the University are encouraged to make nominations.
Any employee of Illinois State University who meets the following qualifications may be considered for the Strand Diversity Achievement Award:
Illinois State University is very fortunate to have many dedicated employees who are committed to the principles of diversity and equality. Please help us to recognize these deserving persons by submitting a nomination on their behalf for this important award. Nominations do not expire. Once a nomination is made, the nominee, should they be unsuccessful in 2008, is still an eligible candidate for the Strand Diversity Award without re-nomination every year there after until the employee leaves the University.
The award recipient will be announced during the spring semester Founder’s Day Celebration and will receive an individual recognition plaque and a cash award.
We appreciate your support and assistance in recognizing those who are committed to diversity on campus.
President Emeritus David A. Strand, who has served as an administrator and faculty member at Illinois State University since 1978, established the Strand Diversity Achievement Award.
