Any employee of Illinois State University who meets the following qualifications may be considered for the Strand Diversity Achievement Award:

  • Employed in a full time position with Illinois State University.
  • Has demonstrated a commitment to serve, research, teach, and/or provide programming to and/or regarding racial, ethnic, or gender diversity, sexual orientation, disability, religion, national origin, or other traditionally underrepresented groups

  1. Submit a copy of the nominee’s resume or vitae including any materials supporting the nominee’s commitment to diversity.
  2. Submit a letter of nomination that describes the scope, outcomes, uniqueness and impact of the nominee’s contributions to the University community.

Illinois State University is very fortunate to have many dedicated employees who are committed to the principles of diversity and equality.  Please help us to recognize these deserving persons by submitting a nomination on their behalf for this important award.  Nominations do not expire.  Once a nomination is made, the nominee, should they be unsuccessful in 2008, is still an eligible candidate for the Strand Diversity Award without re-nomination every year there after until the employee leaves the University.

The award recipient will be announced during the spring semester Founder’s Day Celebration and will receive an individual recognition plaque and a cash award.

We appreciate your support and assistance in recognizing those who are committed to diversity on campus.
